School Uniform
School uniform makes an important contribution to the ethos of the school and the work and attitude of the children.
Wearing a school uniform reinforces a sense of community belonging and avoids children's best clothes being spoiled. Please ensure that your child is dressed in clothes that he/she can easily manage. Younger children may benefit from pull-up trousers and skirts and non-laced shoes.
Our school uniform is based on our school colour - blue.
Branded jumpers/cardigans, t-shirts and fleece/coat are availabe to purchase online (see link below) but these are optional. There are no obligatory branded items at Oxhey Wood.
Daily School Uniform for children in Reception - Year 6 *
- Grey trousers/shorts or skirt
- White shirt/polo shirt
- Blue jumper or cardigan (branded with the Oxhey Wood School logo is optional)
- Blue and white checked or striped summer dress
- White, grey or black socks
- Grey or black tights
- Black school shoes
Children must also have a school book bag, a water bottle in school at all times, a coat when it is cold and a sun hat in hot weather.
It is usual for children to switch from trousers/skirt to shorts/summer dress in summer but this is down to individual preference. We encourage children to come to school in clothing that is appropriate for the weather and in which they feel comfortable.
PE Kit (to be brought into school on PE days):
- Plain black or navy shorts
- White round-necked t-shirt or polo shirt
- White socks, non-marking trainers & plimsolls.
All children are expected to change for PE and games.
All school clothing must be marked with the owner’s name.
Jewellery must not be worn to school. Pupils will be asked to remove jewellery, which will be sent home. For safety reasons, only the smallest stud earrings can be worn in pierced ears.
Items Not Permitted:
- Any form of make up; including nail varnish and coloured lip balm/gloss
- Non religious jewellery
- Earrings other than flat stud type earrings
* Uniform is not required for children in nursery, however it is encouraged.

Second-hand uniform is available in the school office. Parents and carers should email admin@oxheywood.agoralp.co.uk or visit the office to make enquiries. Second hand unifrom sales are held regularly, please ask the office for the details of the next one.
