Welcome to Year 5 Shakespeare, I am your class teacher Miss Ryan. In our amazing class we also have Mrs Farmer supporting the children with their learning. The adults in Shakespeare class work hard to ensure all the children are safe and happy at school. This year, we have amazing trips planned and learning opportunities that are fun, practical and engaging so that the children enjoy all their lessons and learn lots along the way! Spring 1

This half term, the theme of our learning is 'High days and holidays.' We will be learning all about Spain, including where it is located and its human and physical features. In our English lessons, we will be writing an information leaflet about a planet in our solar system, as well as exploring a new book called 'Cosmic' by Frank Cottrell Boyce. We will continue our swimming lessons every Wednesday and during Monday's PE lessons we will be learning skills for OAA (outdoor advernturous activities). They will be working individually, collaboratively in pairs and groups to solve problems and solve solutions to a challenge. In our maths lessons, we will be continuing to explore formal methods for multiplication/division and delving into fractions. In French lessons, we will be learning all about our solar system.

Please continue to read every day. Evidence shows that reading for just 15 minutes a day greatly influences children's progress as they continue through school. 

Daily reading, TT rockstars and spelling shed. Speech cup continues every Wednesday. Please practice with your child at home prior to the day they share with their class.
