Welcome to Year 5 Shakespeare, I am your class teacher Miss Ryan. In our amazing class we also have Mrs Farmer supporting the children with their learning. The adults in Shakespeare class work hard to ensure all the children are safe and happy at school. This year, we have amazing trips planned and learning opportunities that are fun, practical and engaging so that the children enjoy all their lessons and learn lots along the way! Summer 1

This half term, our learning will focus on The Tudors. The children will explore Tudor times, learn about important monarchs, and study the reign of Henry VIII. In English, we will begin reading Treason by Berlie Doherty and will be writing detailed character and setting descriptions inspired by the story as well as letters and diary entries. In Maths, children will learn about reflection and translation, calculate perimeter, and solve problems involving angles, including finding unknown angles. In PE, swimming lessons will continue on Wednesday's, alongside fitness activities to build strength, stamina, and overall physical health on Monday's. In French lessons we will be learning about clothes.

Please continue to read every day. Evidence shows that reading for just 15 minutes a day greatly influences children's progress as they continue through school. 

Daily reading, TT rockstars and spelling shed. Speech cup continues every Wednesday. Please practice with your child at home prior to the day they share with their class.
