Welcome to Rashford
We are a nurturing, inclusive class where every child is encouraged to grow in confidence, independence and resilience. We provide a calm, supportive environment where children feel safe, valued and ready to learn, celebrating every achievement along the way.
Through a personalised, hands-on curriculum, we inspire curiosity and a love of learning while developing communication, independence and life skills. We recognise that every child learns differently and adapt our teaching to ensure all children can succeed and reach their full potential.
Our class is named after the inspiring Marcus Rashford, whose kindness, determination and belief in helping others reflect the values we encourage every day. We strive to create a classroom where children show respect, resilience and confidence as they become the very best version of themselves.

Welcome to Rashford
This half term, our topic is Arctic Adventures! We will be exploring the fascinating polar regions and linking our learning across different areas of the curriculum.
In English, we will explore Arctic poetry, learn about The Great Explorer and enjoy the traditional tale of Rapunzel. We will develop our vocabulary, reading and writing through a range of engaging and practical activities.
In Maths, we will develop our understanding of number and place value, working with numbers to 20 and 100. We will also explore addition and subtraction and finding parts and the whole, using practical resources to support our understanding.
In Science, we will be learning about animals, including humans, while our Geography learning will take us to the polar regions, where we will investigate human and physical features and begin to explore climate and our changing world.
In the afternoons, our children also have opportunities to join their year-group classes for lessons such as PE, Art, Music and PSHE. This supports inclusion, friendships and a sense of belonging within their wider year group, while allowing children to access learning alongside their peers. Support is adapted to each child’s individual needs to help them participate successfully.
As always in Rashford, learning will be personalised to meet each child's individual needs, with practical resources, visual support and hands-on experiences helping every child to participate, build confidence and achieve.
