Monster Phonics
Monster phonics is our DfE approved Monster phonics scheme. It provides a multi-sensory approach to teaching phonics; with fun coloured coded monsters to help the children remember the different graphemes.

This is our curriculum coverage for Autumn 1. Please read through and share with your child.
We have five members of staff working across two classes in Year 1.
Our class teachers our Miss Ertanin and Mrs Vincett.
Our class TA's are Miss Hopping, Miss Coleman and Ms Scott.

Autumn 1 Homework
Homework Project
Our homework project this term is based on Ambition. Please look at the above attachment to help your child create a poster which shows something they want to achieve.

Autumn 2 Homework Project
This term we are asking the children to research a country that has qualified for the World Cup! A draw took place in assembly and each class across the school designated a different country.
1 Darwin drew Tunisia
1 Sharman drew Morocco
Children can design posters, use PowerPoint or give a talk on their chosen country.
They can talk about things such as population, languages spoken, weather etc
We look forward to seeing what they come up with!

HOMEWORK
This term, in addition to weekly reading and Numbots, we will be introducing a weekly spelling test.
Spellings to learn will be sent out on Monday afternoons and the children will be tested the following Friday. Please help your child to learn these spellings.
