Shakespeare had a lovely time sitting round the campfire and eating s’mores and have now settled down to watch a film together.
This afternoon Rosen have tried their hand at archery and Shakespeare have learnt some circus skills!

Dinner and tidying up - getting ready for a campfire . We’ve had a little rain so we are crossing our fingers it will be dry enough now!
5 Rosen have arrived at Willow Tree Centre. They have unpacked, had a snack and started their morning activities!
Welcome to Spring 2 learning in year 5. This term we will be developing our suspense and tension writing through a book called The boy in the tower by Polly-Ho-Yen. We will be exploring problem solving techniques and continuing to work with fractions in maths and in Science we are learning about living things and their habitats. This will include looking at the functions of the parts of a plant and lifecycles. We are continuing to read our class novel (Cosmic) and we are looking forward to starting our new topic about our local area. Next week , we will go on a walk around South Oxhey and make comparisons using old photographs and maps.

Welcome to year 5. This term our new topic is called Alchemy Island. We will be learning all about maps, 6 figure coordinates and compass directions. We will be writing a non-fiction explorer's guide to different parts of the island, exploring the properties of different materials that we might find on the island and reading about a mysterious 'Nowhere Emporium'! Come and join us on our new adventure.
Autumn 1 curriculum overview
Welcome to year 5. This term we are learning about the Ancient Egyptians. We are looking forward to a workshop with the British Museum to discover more about our topic. We are also enjoying our class novel - The outlaw, Varjak Paw by SF Said. We are really excited to have a virtual visit with the author next week so we can ask questions about the characters.
